I'm pursuing a joint major in Computer Science and Biology (as my university doesn't offer Bioinformatics at the undergraduate level). I'm so happy to have come across this great learning tool. It makes me want to learn how to do these problems properly and more efficiently!

This is such a great place to learn bioinformatics. I'm having so much fun. The descriptions are simple and certainly not boring. I want to say thanks to everyone contributing to this site :-)

I've been looking for a website to learn programming for bioinformatics for so long! I have always been interested in bioinformatics but could never apply my programming knowledge to biology without seemingly delving into very complex topics fast. As a high-school student, I have been looking for a way to learn bioinformatics in an easily approachable way. Rosalind seamlessly connects programming to biology in a fun and educational way--something I've never encountered before! Thanks again!

Hi guys! I wanted to tell that I was very pleased with the site. It is done on a very high level and to be honest I was surprised that it was done by Russian developers, but at the same time I'm also very proud about the fact that we can do good things when we want to.

I've been teaching myself how to program, aiming towards eventually being able to use it to do bioinformatics. I haven't played with Rosalind a lot yet, but I love the design and idea. I also appreciate that "write a praise" (wording and sentiment) is a feedback option.

Thanks for bringing this all together- I don't have a background in this type of data analytics, but I was brought here from Slashdot and I'm having a great time thinking outside the box, writing string parsers, etc.

This is simply awesome !! I am a software project manager by profession and it's been quite some time since I have been kept away from the joy of "good" programming. But, as soon as Rosalind caught my attention, I cannot think of anything else ! literally ! It's been one week since I joined this community and I am so attached to it that I have already solved 36 problems. Everything about this site is worthy of praise. For example: 1. The set of problems is well thought through and is a "tree" by itself, forming increasing levels of difficulty. 2. The most beautiful part is, no problem is out of context. Each problem is connected to a topic in bioinformatics, each topic is connected to each other and when joined together, the topics form bigger concepts showing the bigger picture. 3. For years, I have been in search of good bio-informatics books. However, either they are more focused toward biology than mathematics/algorithm, or the reverse or they are very difficult to understand. This is the place, where I finally found the right mixture and essence of all the aspects of the field of bioinformatics to get me started. All the bioinformatics topics are lucidly explained. 4. Website information and navigations are excellent. You can jump from any piece of information to virtually any other piece of information. For instance, from my account, you can go to any (solved or unsolved) problem, then to another related problem or related concept, to the container topic...etc...etc... It's fun to even explore this site. VERY WELL DONE. Keep doing the good work!

I'm so excited to have come across this great learning tool. I can solve biological problems with my computer skills, and learn more about Biology !

Could you please include more theory of the biological side of each problem? Solving problems is not very difficult, but it would be much more fun to also develop a good understanding in the biology of the genome

I love the Monty Python references, I love the Lewis Carrol references, I love the site, I love the approach to programming and I'm even falling in love with bioinformatics. I am so happy right now, you guys, and it's all your fault.

This is fabulous - I can spend hours in here. Many topics that I have had a hard time introducing in class are broken into small bits - even if students don't solve the full problem, they can get far enough to gain insight. I would love to know more about how the solutions are generated and checked. I have looked for publications, but have not found any.
