In the 'eval' question, the text refers to "the number of events xi occurring". It is linked to the probabilities of a single event happening. However, it is far from clear to me of "the number of events xi" refers to a sampling (number) of random 'draws' of events, the total number any event happens ('xi'), etc. The definition of p1 + ... + pn suggests the chance that any event happens, which I do not see why that would not be 1.0. An example may clarify things, e.g. my giving an example event. E.g. x1 maybe the substring 'GC' happening.

When you ask "The probability that at least N Aa Bb organisms will belong to the k-th generation of Tom's family tree" do you mean the probability that N AaBb organisms selected from all of the individuals that have been bred up to generation k belong to the kth generation or do you mean the probability that the kth generation has N AaBb organisms? Or do you mean something else?

It is stated that the corresponding de Bruijn graph consists of exactly 2 cycles, but in sample input it is not (for example, node "ATCT" has out degree 0). Is it a bug in sample, or am I misunderstanding the problem?

Is it really this way in practice?

In problem LONG is said that "in reality, researchers will not know the strand of DNA from which a given read has been sequenced.". But it seems not be a big deal to use some protein attached only to the one strand and so to extract only this stand after amplification. What am I missing?

Can you please explain why these permutations : 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 3 1 5 2 7 4 9 6 10 8 have a distance of 9? As every number shifts, shouldn't it be 10? Thank you! Rainer

Dear Ali, this feature was implemeted for you — now you can place multiple deadlines (due dates) to the problems list in a class (on the "Edit problems" page).

As part of a class created on Rosalind (Paul Medvedev at Penn State University), I had solved 12 problems. But these problems are not marked as "solved" on my home page, nor do they contribute to my Level progress on my profile page. Is there some way to link my progress from within the class, or should I go ahead and re-upload my code outside of the class ? Thanks !
